Baby and bath thermometer

A thermometer is indispensable when you become a parent, so you can easily check your little one's temperature and keep an eye on whether they have become ill or have a slight fever. There are many different types of thermometers for babies, so it can be an advantage to try a few different ones to find out which thermometer suits both you and your little one best. As it is not always easy to measure your child's temperature, it is also important to try to find the method that is most comfortable and that you feel provides the most accurate measurement.

You can get thermometers for the ear or mouth, thermometers that measure on the forehead and the classic rectal thermometer for the bottom. You can also buy a so-called pacifier thermometer, which is a thermometer for babies built into a pacifier. Some of these thermometers may be easier to use, but may also prove to be a little inaccurate.

The thermometer most often recommended is a digital thermometer for the bottom with a flexible tip. At first, you will easily be able to use it on your little one, but as the child gets older, they will begin to dislike this thermometer and you can, for example, use one for the ear instead. The selection is incredibly large, so it is a question of what is most appropriate for the individual baby.

When your child is unwell, it is important that you have a Good thermometer that can tell you whether the child is ill. As the selection is incredibly large, it can be difficult to know what to choose. Therefore, it is often a very individual question which thermometer to choose.

What type of thermometer should you buy?

As there are countless different models of thermometers, it can be a good idea to try a few different ones, so you find the one your child finds least uncomfortable. There are, for example, thermometers for the ear. This can be an advantage if your child does not like a thermometer for the bottom, which is otherwise most often recommended.

Another thing to consider when buying a thermometer is how quickly it measures, as the child is often impatient, especially if they are unwell. It is also especially unfortunate if the thermometer does not measure accurately and you have to measure again.

Are there different types of thermometers?

There are Different types of thermometers for babies. You can also get bath thermometers that can measure whether the water in the bathtub is too hot for your little one. If you do not have a thermometer, you can use the classic method of putting your elbow in the water, but a thermometer undoubtedly provides the best information about whether the water is too hot or cold. It is also possible to get a room thermometer. It may seem unnecessary at first, but it can be a good idea to have a thermometer in the child's bedroom so you can keep an eye on how warm it is in there. These different thermometers are also available in different models with motifs or designs. With a room thermometer you can also check whether the temperature is as it should be in different rooms, such as the living room or the bathroom.

What is most important when buying a children's thermometer?

When buying a thermometer, it is therefore very individual whether you choose a pacifier thermometer, an ear thermometer, one with a motif or something completely different. What is important is that the thermometer works and that the child does not find it more uncomfortable than absolutely necessary. It can therefore be an advantage to get different types, so you have something to switch between to suit the situation and the mood of your little one.
