The story behind Magni

The history of Magni is long. Mette started the company in 2000 with a philosophy that children should develop their imagination and creativity through play with toys. Based on this philosophy, the company today has a motto that reads as follows: “Imagine a world with Magni”. This world is a magical world filled with play – we owe this to our children. Magni toys place great emphasis on good, high-quality materials and quality:

“We feel that it is our responsibility that our children can grow up with high-quality toys and proper safety. Therefore, all our products meet all existing safety standards found in the toy industry.”

The word Magni comes from norse mythology. Magni was not just any person. Magni was the son of Thor and the giantess Jernsaxa. The word Magni stands for strength, among other things. In Denmark, we have created our own variant, namely the boy’s name Magne. When Magni was three days old, he saved his father from the giant Hrungner’s boot – his father, Thor, was about to be suffocated. Because of Magni’s strength and heroism, he received the horse Guldfaxe as a reward.

In norse mythology, one hears, among other things, that Magni will survive Ragnarok. After Ragnarok, Magni takes over Thor’s hammer “Mjølner” together with his half-brother. Magni then becomes part of the entirely new race of gods.

The founder and owner of Magni, (Mette), is part of the trade association “Legetøjsbranchen – Leg”, which helps and supports responsible toy companies. LEG collaborates with authorities such as the environmental protection agency and the Danish safety technology authority, which means that Magni is continuously inspected and consults with the authorities to always ensure that the toys placed on the market are of sufficiently high quality and do not pose a safety risk to either Children or parents.

All toys from Magni are CE-marked, tested by SGS and Intertek, and comply with all EN 71 1,2,3 and Danish standards.

Design and development of the toys

Magni has its headquarters near Roskilde. At their office, there are 2 permanent designers with one purpose for coming to work every morning: to design and develop toys for children that are both highly safe and have a beautiful design. Likewise, the products are created with the idea that the toys should develop and stimulate the child in every conceivable way, so that the child develops correctly.

Before a Magni product ends up on Mammashop.dk, It has gone through many steps. First, the 2 designers at Magni have drawn countless sketches to find the right look. Once this has been done, prototypes are made. When the prototype arrives, there can often be something that has not been considered and is subsequently corrected. Magni then receives another prototype, which goes for safety approval before large-scale production begins.

When production begins, Mammashop.dk knows that within 6 months, a new Magni product will arrive on the shelves. When the product has arrived at the Magni Warehouse in Roskilde, we receive a shipment at our warehouse so that we can meet our lightning-fast delivery times. The product is then created on our webshop, where a beautiful photo is taken and a great description of the product is written with the help of our copywriter. Now the product from Magni is ready for you to buy – more than 1 year in the making!

As the products from Magni pass through so many hands, you will experience that every small detail has been carefully considered, making the toys unique, beautiful, safe and creating the best play for your child!
